Counting down the days!

16 Feb, 2025

It’s official: staring at a plant does not make it grow any faster. That said, everything is progressing right on schedule, and we’re on track for the end of the month. Right now, just under 5,000 plants are thriving under carefully calibrated lighting, each tailored to their unique needs. Strawberries are receiving additional infrared light to boost sugar production, while arugula thrives under a touch more blue. Lettuce, on the other hand, is happy with a balanced full-spectrum light—content just to be part of the lineup.

The first strawberries will be picked this week. Just a handful for now, but a promising sign of what’s to come. Soon, we’ll have 300 fruiting strawberry plants representing varieties from around the world—white, red, pink, large, and small. With the final touches going into our dedicated strawberry room, those 300 plants will soon expand to 1,200. We’re looking forward to it.

On this blustery winter day, here are a few photos taken this morning of what’s growing and will be ready soon.

Stay warm, and stay tuned.
